Pearl Girl

This painting is inspired by Vermeer’s famous “Girl in a Turban” painting.  She represents us all.

The doves in her turban symbolize the Holy Spirit.  The game board in her turban represents the world.  So, both the Spirit and the world are in our heads.  The toys falling down the side have no arms or legs and show how we all are out of control before Christ comes in our lives.  The dove, a symbol of the Holy Spirit, is flying to the rescue.
