The woman is a Samaritan and a woman which are two strikes against her in Jewish culture at the time.  However, Jesus takes the time to speak with her and show here that God knows all about her life and cares.  In fact, Jesus stayed with the Samaritans for two days.
This one story is full of interesting aspects that are worth looking into when you have time.

The calligraphic line represents the word of the Lord or prayer
language.
