“Timothy” is a portrait of Timothy, Paul’s ‘son in the faith.’ He was the son of a Greek father and Jewish mother and Paul’s protégé and trusted friend. Timothy accompanied Paul on many of his travels and sometimes stayed behind at churches to help encourage them. Paul requested Timothy to join him in Rome at the end of his life.

One of my favorite quotes from Paul is about Timothy: “Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in life, in love, in faith, and in purity.” 1 Timothy 4:12

Surrounding his head are stars and a galaxy representing the heavenly, spiritual things that were always on his mind. In his ‘body’ there is a sunrise over water with sheep grazing. This represents the peace in the Kingdom of Heaven he sought and the sheep are the churches he ministered to while on this earth.
