This piece is inspired by the scripture: “Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.” Mark 11:24
The woman is surrounded be three fish which represent the Trinity. The colorful line that bisects the piece is reminiscent of nautical signal flags. They are used to communicate across distances a variety of types of messages. When we need help, comfort, provision, or relationship we use prayer to communicate with God. Sometimes we forget that help is available and right at hand if we would just signal.
The calligraphic lines that run along the gold circle represent prayer language.
