"He defends the cause of the fatherless and the widow, and loves the foreigner residing among you, giving them food and clothing.  And you are to love those who are foreigners, for you yourselves were foreigners in Egypt.” Deuteronomy 10:18-19

All over the world, people are being displaced from their homes against their will.  They are forced the leave the land, house, job, culture, and language that is a part of them.  Whether it is war, genocide, extreme poverty, or oppression, these people need a safe place to make a home.  It is easy to look away and let someone else deal with it.  Unless you are the  refugee….

The face is coming out of the blue light.  Maybe this light is colored by a temporary shelter made from a lawn tarp.  The face is not clearly male or female and the age could range from child to adult.  The ethnicity is unclear as well.  The eyes look directly at you.  We all need help in this life and God has called us to help the helpless.

The calligraphic line represents the word of the Lord or prayer language.
