God uses the sufferings of a time to prepare us for the destiny to which He has called us.  “You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good to accomplish what is now being done.” Genesis 50:20   The candle represents the hope of the promise of God in our lives.  He is there in all of it, waiting for us to choose Him.  The woman faces the light representing her choice.  The calligraphic lines represent prayer language, but also words of  truth spoken by others invested in our walk of faith and our destiny.

“And the God of all grace, who called you to his eternal glory in Christ, after you have suffered a little while, will himself restore you and make you strong, firm and steadfast.” 1 Peter 5:9-10

The calligraphic line represents prayer language.
