In “Offline,” I am addressing the issue of feeling like God is disconnected from your life.

The woman’s dress mimics the offline color bars of a television.  The toys on her shoulders represent the people around you that mock your faith.  They have mouths but no eyes.  Matthew 13:14-16 “In them is fulfilled the prophecy of Isaiah: “‘You will be ever hearing but never understanding;  you will be ever seeing but never perceiving.  For this people’s heart has become calloused;  they hardly hear with their ears,  and they have closed their eyes.  Otherwise they might see with their eyes, hear with their ears, understand with their hearts and turn, and I would heal them.’  But blessed are your eyes because they see, and your ears because they hear.”
She holds an egg which is a symbol of life, promise and the Trinity.  We must keep our trust in God and His promises close to us during the hard times when it seems that God is quiet. “ Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.”Deuteronomy 31:6
